フィボナッチ螺旋の再現により、微妙にゆらぎがあるが調和の取れた、生命の鼓動が聞こえるかのような、温かくときめき感のあるデザインとなりました!

By faithfully recreating the Fibonacci spiral, the design achieves a delicate balance of subtle fluctuation and harmony — evoking the pulse of life itself, with a sense of warmth, excitement, and wonder!!!

イタリア・ミラノで行われている世界最大級の国際デザインコンペティション「A’ Design Award & Competition 2026」のBakeware, Tableware, Drinkware and Cookware (食器等)デザイン部門においてKJ工房からエントリーした「 Spiral of Life (命の軌跡)」が Gold Awardを受賞いたしました。
INSPIRATION:
当初、人の生活に不可欠の太陽とそれを追うひまわりを題材にしたデザインを模索していたが難航していた。
打開策を見つけるために、ダンスペインター(踊りながら絵を描くアーティスト)の娘のReeに話を持ち掛けたところ、ひまわりが持つフィボナッチ螺旋という、法則性はあるが非対称な幾何学的模様に、Ree自身も従来から興味があることがわかる。
Reeはそれをダンスペイントで、疑似的にフィボナッチ螺旋を表現する方法(左軸足で右足で描く螺旋数と右軸足で左足で描く螺旋数をフィボナッチ数に合わせる)に取り組む。
その様子を見て、切子デザインにフィボナッチ螺旋を展開するチャレンジを始めた。
We are thrilled to announce that “Spiral of Life” received the Gold Award in the Bakeware, Tableware, Drinkware and Cookware Design category at the internationally renowned A’ Design Award & Competition held in Milan!
INSPIRATION:
I initially struggled to translate the relationship between the sun and the sunflower into glass. The breakthrough came via my daughter Ree, an artist and paint dancer, who shared my fascination with the sunflower Fibonacci spiral. This pattern blends mathematical law with organic asymmetry. Ree physicalized this sequence by synchronizing her leg drawn spiral counts with Fibonacci numbers. Witnessing this kinetic manifestation inspired me to transpose these complex spirals onto Kiriko glass.
